The appointment of a registrar and demonstrators at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) were halted on Friday pending a decision of the court.
This was directed by a single-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), comprising Justice Ghulam Azam Qambrani, as it heard a petition filed by Dr Safiullah.
During the hearing on Friday, the petitioner's counsel told the court that doctors junior to his client had been asked to appear for the interview. The petitioner further accused the Pims administration of attempting to appoint its blue-eyed people to the posts of registrar and demonstrator arbitrarily.
At this, the court stopped the hospital administration from proceeding further with the recruitment process until the next hearing of the case scheduled for October 19.
It further directed the Pims registrar and vice-chancellor to not only submit para wise responses but to also issue an interview call letter to the petitioner.
