A man allegedly responsible for the abduction of a two and a half-year-old toddler was arrested by the Saddar Beroni police while the child was safely recovered and returned to his parents on Friday.
The two-and-a-half-year-old had been abducted a day ago and the unidentified kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs400,000 from the victim's parents. Unable to arrange the steep sum, the child’s mother had called Rescue 15 and informed the police about the abduction, a police spokesperson said.
Police suspected that a close relative was involved. they took prompt action and safely recovered the toddler and arrested the suspect.
