RAWALPINDI:

The police on Wednesday arrested the prime suspect in the murder of four siblings in Dhoke Kamal Deen.

A police spokesperson said that the suspect, Ghulam Abbas, was arrested after two separate FIRs were lodged against him. Abbas had allegedly killed the family of his brother’s wife, Eraj, over his brother’s second marriage.

The victims included her three sisters Sabahat, Faiza, and Hira and brother, Haider. Eraj survived the attack and was under treatment at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital. The FIR for the murder of Sabahat, Faiza, and Hira and for injuring Eraj was filed by Adeeb Ali, while Naveed Iqbal filed an FIR for the murder of Haider.

Abbas carried out the attack because he was against his brother, Khurram, marrying Eraj. CPO Ahsan Younus had formed special teams which apprehended the suspect.
