PESHAWAR:

A man posing as an employee of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) made a transaction of hundreds of rupees to Sahiwal from the bank account of a local. The account holder, Tariq Nadeem, told Hayatabad police that he received a call from a man who identified himself as a representative of SBP. The caller obtained the National Identity Card (NIC) number and later asked for account details on a message which the victim provided. However, Nadeem learnt that he had been a victim of fraud after which he rushed to the bank to check his balance. There, he learnt that a transaction of over Rs0.4 million had been made from his account to Sahiwal and a woman named Yasmeen had already received it. The police have registered a case of the incident and started an investigation.
