Supermodel and ‘America's Got Talent’ judge Heidi Klum once again captivated fans with her Halloween costume, taking on an unexpected twist by dressing as E.T. in drag. Known for her over-the-top Halloween looks, Klum's costume this year featured the iconic extraterrestrial character from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. She recreated E.T.’s memorable scene with a hat, wig, and skirt, while her husband, Tom Kaulitz, dressed as a classic E.T. sans costume, making their arrival at her annual Halloween party especially eerie.

Klum shared glimpses of her costume throughout the day, revealing a year’s worth of planning and preparation. “This is my least comfortable costume,” she said, referring to the heavy makeup and textured skin application, which even required her to remove her nails. Klum’s costume dedication has become a Halloween tradition, with past transformations including everything from a giant worm to a peacock and even Princess Fiona from Shrek.

This year, Klum wasn’t the only celebrity to channel E.T.; Janelle Monáe also sported an E.T.-inspired look on The Jennifer Hudson Show, adding to the alien costume trend. Despite the pressure to top her previous looks, Klum admitted feeling anxious about the final reveal. “There is no real fitting,” she told PEOPLE, explaining that everything comes together on Halloween itself.

As the “Queen of Halloween,” Klum has set a high bar for celebrity Halloween costumes, planning her next look immediately after each year’s party. Fans are already speculating on what bold transformation she might bring next Halloween.
