Naturalist Sir David Attenborough made his debut on Instagram with a video and instantly became a hit amongst excited fans as they reposted his video on their personal feed, reports GQ.

In his video that has been viewed 16.8m times, Attenborough 94, says “I am making this move and exploring this new way of communication to me because, as we all know, the world is in trouble…Over the next few weeks, I’ll be recording messages to explain what the problems are and how we can deal with them.”

David Attenborough has spent a lifetime travelling, exploring the wild places of our planet and documenting the living world in all its variety and wonder. He’s also witnessed the damaged caused. Sir Attenborough reached a million followers on the platform in just 4 hours and 44 minutes breaking Jennifer Anniston's record who reached a million followers in just 5 hours and 16 minutes, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

At present, Attenborough has around 4.5 million followers, a number that will surely continue to grow as he continues to utilise his account for spreading significant stories and sharing more information on climate change. The adored environmentalist is most known for writing and presenting about animal and plant life on Earth.
