Punjab Council of the Arts organised a stage play titled Manoo which highlighted social issues.
The theme of the play was 'Greed is Curse' and unfair means should not be used to fulfill desire and dreams, because it became destructive for society.
The play which was jointly presented by Green Chilies Production and Punjab Council of the arts, was written by Amir Zaryab and directed by Amina Khan.
Several artists including Naeem Toota, Kareem Khan, Arshad khan, Imran Rushdi, Amir Chaudhary, Shama Niazi, Sobia Saleem, Shahzad Mughal, Mehboob Jaan, Faheem Awan, Imran, Niaz Aziz, Sawera Shahzadi and Amina Khan took part in the play.
At the end of the play, artist Waqar Ahmed said that the Punjab Council of the Arts has always strived to promote family entertainment while the new talent had always been encouraged on this platform.
Meanwhile, over 60 artists showcased their work in an exhibition featuring landscape, sketches, building, and calligraphy. The three-day group painting exhibition was arranged by the Punjab Council of the Arts on Saturday.
Provincial Minister for Literacy and Non-Formal Education Rashid Hafeez inaugurated the exhibition.
Rashid Hafeez said that Punjab government was taking steps to promote art and to address the issues being faced by artist community.
