RAWALPINDI:

Saddar police on Sunday registered a case against a suspect who allegedly forced a woman to continue with an illicit relation they had developed, threatening to slander and kill her if she broke up with him.

The victim, M*, told the police that she was married but had developed illicit relations with her tenant, Babar, who she asserts was a member of a gang.

As the relationship grew, the victim said that the suspect started borrowing money from M* on various pretexts.

However, when the complaint decided to end the relation, the suspect threatened to throw acid on her apart from disclosing their relationship to her husband. The victim claimed that she was forced to keep the secret relationship.

Babar then applied for a loan in a bank while promising to pay it back in instalments if she became a guarantor. The victim agreed and he availed the loan.

However, he only paid the instalments when he used to meet M* not otherwise.

The complainant asserted that the suspect later ran away with money of a ballot committee but continued calling her, forcing her not to end the relationship and hurled threats to kill her family and son if she refused to.

The complaint claimed that she has recordings of all their calls. The police have registered a case and started the investigation.
