IIUI hostels to reopen this weekend

Students advised to strictly follow virus SOPs

ISLAMABAD:

After remaining closed for nearly six months, the male and female hostels of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) will completely reopen from September 21, the university announced on Thursday.

In a statement, IIUI Provost Female Dr Amna Mehmood on Thursday said that female students of the university can return to their hostels from the weekend starting September 19. She further directed that students are requested to report to the hostels latest by 7pm on Saturday and Sunday (September 19 and 20).

Meanwhile, Provost Male Hostels Dr Abrar Anver said that male students can rejoin their dedicated hostels from the afternoon of September 20.

The university administration has further directed students to strictly follow the protective standard operating procedures (SoPs) prescribed by the university and district administration.

It has further reiterated its resolve that no stone will be left unturned to implement all the prescribed procedures and precautions while reopening hostels and classrooms to keep campuses free of the fatal pandemic.

Earlier, the IIUI had announced to reopen regular classes from September 21.
