Two held in robbery, rape case

The suspects took the family hostage at gunpoint

LAHORE:

Police claimed to have arrested two suspects nominated in in a case of gang rape of a woman during a robbery two weeks back in Raiwind City.

It took Lahore police 14 days to arrest the suspects.

The arrested suspects were identified as Sajjad and Qasim.

They robbed the house of Ghazzanfar Ali, a resident of Okara currently residing in Kalay Da Kot, Raiwind Road to look after the land of his landlord Ejaz.

In his complaint before police, he said unidentified suspects had barged into his house while he was asleep with his wife.

Police ‘catch robber red-handed’

The suspects took the family hostage at gunpoint.

The suspects looted cash, valuables and edibles from their house.

Before leaving, they tied him to a chair and sexually assaulted his wife, the complainant stated.

Capital City Police Officer Umer Sheikh vowed to bring the accused to justice.

However, Abid Malhi, the prime suspect of the motorway sexual assault incident, who was first nominated in a robbery-cum gang rape case in 2013, is yet to be arrested.
