ISLAMABAD:

An All Parties Conference (APC) will be organised by the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) on Thursday (today).

The conference will discuss issues like the appointment of judges, accountability and censorship of media.

Sources said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) head Sirajul Haq and Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan had refused to attend the meeting.

Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri will represent the JUI-F, while JI will be headed by Asadullah Bhutto.

The PBC had also invited the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to attend the conference but the ruling party not responded to the offer until the filing of this report.
