The Sindh High Court directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer (IO) on Tuesday to file the reference in against West District Municipal Corporation Chairperson Qamaruddin Shaikh and others in the corruption inquiry against them. A two-member bench, comprising Justice KK Agha and Justice Zulfiqar Ali Sangi, heard the case. The NAB IO did not appear before the court. The inquiry has been underway for months, observed the bench, adding that the bureau’s director-general would be summoned if progress remains the same. Directing the IO to complete the inquiry and file the reference, the court adjourned the hearing till November 17.
