A pregnant woman who was beaten by her relatives, suffered a miscarriage when she was hit in the abdomen over a property inheritance dispute in the D-Type Colony area on Tuesday.
Her husband and a five-year-old child were also physically tortured by the suspects.
The woman was beaten with a wiper and is in a critical condition at a local hospital. Police have registered a case and started searching for the accused.
The police report stated in the case registered by Qamar Irshad, a resident of Iqbal Colony, Block N that his relatives Faisal Ijaz, Muhammad Sohail Ijaz , Qaisar Ijaz and Asma Bibi injured him, his wife Anam who was five months pregnant and his five year old son Zaroon over inheritance dispute.
"During the torture, my wife was hit in the abdomen by a wiper, as a result of which she lost her five-month pregnancy and when her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to the Civil Hospital where she is undergoing treatment in a critical condition," the statement read.
The D-Type Colony Police registered a case under Section 338 and started raids to arrest the accused.
