KARACHI:

Just days after a five-year-old girl was kidnapped, raped and murdered in PIB Colony, another child was kidnapped near Sohrab Goth on Wednesday. Saira, 4, was later recovered by the police near Junejo Town.

Unidentified men riding in a black car reportedly kidnapped Saira in the morning. According to Sohrab Goth SHO Abdur Rasool Sial, she had gone to buy chips from a nearby shop at around 9am when she was abducted. He added that only a few children nearby witnessed the incident.

Saira's family informed the police about her disappearance through the Madadgar-15 helpline, he shared, adding that the police sealed the area and began searching for the four-year-old.

Her father, Abdul Karim Khan, told the police they had no dispute with anyone and had received no ransom call. An FIR, registered on his behalf under Section 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code, mentioned that the children who had witnessed the abduction informed him about it half an hour after Saira was kidnapped.

Saira was later recovered safely by the police from Junejo Town. Sial told The Express Tribune that the suspects seemingly became afraid of being caught due to the police's prompt action and fled after leaving Saira near Junejo Town. The child was returned to her family after medico-legal formalities.

According to her family, she appeared to be unharmed.
