The locals of the Union Council (UC) 45 of Islamabad staged a protest on Kashmir Highway, demanding to lift the ban on new utility connections. The related UC is located in NA-54, the constituency from where the Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar was elected. The protesters blocked the road and demanded the federal minister to play his role in lifting the ban on new connections of gas, electricity, and water in Sector H-13. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with demands. The area locals said that there was no government-run water scheme in their sector while the government had placed a ban on the installation of new gas and power metres too. The locals of H-13 called for Umar to take measures to bring them out of difficulties as he claims to be the voice of his supporters. They warned of extending their protests widely if their demands were not heard.
