Two alleged robbers held after shootout

A police squad in a mobile was alerted by the hue and cry of the snatching victim

Two alleged robbers were arrested in wounded condition while their third accomplice managed to flee after crossfire with the police in the New Town area on Monday.

New Town Police officials said that three armed motorcyclists snatched valuables including cash and cellphone from a citizen near Siddiqui Chowk. A police squad in a mobile was alerted by the hue and cry of the snatching victim and started chasing the robbers.

Seeing the police after them, the suspects started firing with pistols. The police personnel, armed with sub-machinegun, returned fire from their squad vehicle bringing them down. However, one of the suspects who was not injured, ran away on foot escaping arrest.

Police shiftged the injured suspects, identified as Adnan and Suleman to District Headquarters Hospital for treatment and legal formalities.
