Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Adil Bazai said the arrangements have been finalized across Balochistan for celebrating Defence Day with enthusiasm on September 6.
“The day will start with special prayers in the mosques for the well-being and prosperity of the country,” said the chief minister’s aide while talking to APP.
Bazai said the nation stood by the side of Armed Forces in defence of the country, added that the entire nation have played an unforgettable role against eliminating terrorism.
“Defence Day pays tribute to the martyrs of the country,” said Bazai, adding the day reminded us of everlasting determination and bravery of our forces against the enemies.
The day would begin with 21-gun salute at provincial capital whereas Fateha and Quran Khawani would also be held for all those, who have laid their lives in the line to serve the nation, he added.
The enemy forces crossed international border in the darkness of night to attack Pakistan on September 6, but ever-vigilant armed forces, solidly backed by the nation, foiled the enemy’s nefarious designs, he said.
The nation and Armed Forces of Pakistan commemorate September 6 to pay tribute to martyr for their supreme sacrifices.
He said that seminars and rallies would also be organized across the province aimed marking the Defence Day.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) Central leader Kahlil George said the Defence Day would be celebrated with national spirit in order to pay rich tribute to martyrs and heroes who had defeated enemy forces in the war of 1965.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting to review preparations and arrangements for defence day.
George, who was also a former member of provincial assembly, said the day is a reminder of everlasting determination and bravery of Pakistan Army.
