Two more succumb to Keamari oil fire injuries

Case registered against PSO administration

KARACHI:

Two more people injured in the Keamari oil field fire on Thursday succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital's burns ward on Saturday.

The blaze had erupted at a private oil company's oil storage facility at Keamari Terminal-1, leaving six people injured, while the charred bodies of two labourers were also retrieved from the site during the cooling process. The deceased were identified as Shahid, 24, and Saleh, 46.

The injured, including Kashif, 32, and Fayaz, 46, had sustained severe burn injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Kashif and Fayaz succumbed to their wounds on Saturday.

A case was registered against the administration of Pakistan State Oil administration under sections of the law pertaining to negligence and unintentional murder. Further investigation is underway.
