Over 300 houses damaged by floods so far

Aat least 46 people had perished in rain-related incidents or were swept away by the raging waters

As many as 375 houses have been either fully or partially damaged by the heavy rains, flash floods and landslides in the hilly regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa over the past week.

In a bulletin issued on Friday by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued details of properties damaged and the casualties caused by the floods in the province.

It said that from August 31 until September 4, at least 46 people had perished in rain-related incidents or were swept away by the raging waters. Another 46 people had been injured in these incidents.

Further, it said that at least 42 houses had been destroyed, while 333 houses had been partially damaged. Moreover, scores of animals had also died in the Malakand division.

It added that the Malakand division had been the worst hit.

Meanwhile, K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan visited different areas of flood-hit Swat valley on Friday, including Madian, Cheehal, Shagram, Baharain, Tirat and Sukhra.
