At least four people were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED), mounted on a motorcycle parked near a mosque, went off on Quetta's Sariab road on Friday.
The blast occurred during Friday prayers. Security forces had cordoned off the area, and shifted the injured to a nearby medical facility.
At least five people, including a 10-year-old boy, were killed and 21 others injured in a powerful bomb blast in the Pak-Afghan bordering town of Chaman on August 10.
As per the security officials, unknown miscreants planted an improvised explosive device (IED) on a motorcycle parked on Mall Road in Chaman near the office of the District Police Officer (DPO).
Security officials said that the blast ripped through the congested Mall Road area of the border town.
In July, at least one person was killed and six others were injured following an explosion in Turbat bazaar.
The city, approximately 700 kilometres from the provincial capital of Quetta, has been frequently targeted by militants.
According to law enforcement agencies, an IED was fitted on a motorcycle. As a result of the explosion, a nearby mechanic shop was completely destroyed as it caught fire.
The deceased and the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Turbat for medical treatment and formalities.
Following the incident, provincial chief minister Jam Kamal Khan expressed grief at the loss of life, stating that anti-state elements will not succeed in their nefarious plans.
