The Supreme Court granted exemption from court on Thursday to the defence lawyer in anchorperson Mureed Abbas’s murder case. A two-member bench, comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Aminuddin Khan, heard the petition seeking the cancellation of accused Adil Zaman’s bail at the SC Karachi Registry. Zaman appeared in court but his lawyer, Farid Ahmed Dayo, could not appear as he was unwell. The bench granted the lawyer time next week to appear before the court. The deceased’s wife, Zara Abbas, had filed the petition in the apex court, challenging the Sindh High Court’s decision.
