Housemaid arrested for alleged jewellery theft

Suspect accused of getting accomplice employed in various households

ISLAMABAD:

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police arrested a housemaid on allegation of stealing from her employers.

Police claimed that the suspect was also accused of getting her accomplices employed in various houses to commit thefts.

Following repeated complaints of thefts at a particular area within the remits of Khanna police station, Investigation SP Malik Naeem Iqbal formed a team to track the suspects.

Finally, a housemaid was identified as the person behind these thefts. Police swooped down on her and hauled her away to Women Police Station. According to police, the maid has confessed to stealing gold jewellery and valuables from her employers, besides helping her accomplices get employment at various homes with an aim to commit thefts. 

Police have recovered stolen gold jewellery worth over Rs625,000 from her. Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed appreciated the performance of CIA police team and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for them.
