Sindh Rangers director general (DG) Major General Omer Bukhari has said that Rangers and other law enforcement agencies (LAEs) have made fool-proof security arrangements to maintain peace in Karachi and across Sindh for the month of Muharram.

He headed two meetings on Wednesday regarding the security arrangements for the month of Muharram.

The first meeting was attended by Karachi additional commissioner, Karachi additional inspector general of police, counter terrorism department inspector general, special branch deputy inspector general and other high-ranked police and Rangers officials.

The meeting reviewed the security arrangements for Ashura (9th and 10th of Muharram) in the city and the rest of the province and further strategies were chalked out in this regard.

The other meeting the DG headed was attended by religious scholars and other relevant individuals.

Sindh Rangers DG urged religious scholars and others to strictly follow pandemic-related standard operating procedures and maintain religious harmony.

Religious scholars lauded the efforts made by Rangers and other LEAs for the month of Muharram and assured them of their complete cooperation to maintain the peace in the province.

The officials also appealed to citizens to inform the Rangers on their nearest check-post or contact them on helpline 1101 or Rangers Madadgar Whatsapp number 0347-9001111, if they saw any suspicious activity or individual around them.
