‘Pakistan’s future linked to technical education’

Punjab minister expressed these views while chairing the first meeting of the PSDA

Punjab Industries and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has said the future of Pakistan was linked with the promotion of technical education which is why the government is advancing forward under an effective strategy to promote quality technical education.

The minister expressed these views while chairing the first meeting of the Punjab Skill Development Authority (PSDA) in the committee room of PSDA on Tuesday.

Official sources said that principal approval was granted to at least 13 points pertaining to the administrative and financial affairs during the meeting.

The board members accorded approval to the vision statement of PSDA, administrative structure of PSDA, institutional development plan, mapping of skill sector and other matters concerned.

Moreover, approval was also given to constitute committewes on human resource, audit, finance and procurement. The constituted committees will provide assistance to the board members during the decision making process.

The board also decided to hire qualified persons from the private sector according to the rules.

Speaking on the occasion, Mian Aslam Iqbal remarked that the technical education institutions have been brought under one umbrella with the establishment of PSDA.
