Robert Pattinson sought Christian Bale's advice for 'The Batman'

The latter helped the former with the costume

Ever since the trailer for, The Batman released over the weekend, social media has been flooded with comparisons between Robert Pattinson the lead of the upcoming film, and Christian Bale who wore the cowl in Christopher Nolan's trilogy. While social media was divided, with some expressing reservations about Pattinson's rendition reaching the same heights as that of Bale, director Matt Reeves has noted that the former borrowed a few tips form the latter, reported Screen Rant.

During Reeves’ The Batman DC FanDome panel, the director received a fan question asking how much input the actors had on their costumes. The director while talking about the Bat-suit, revealed the advice Bale gave to Pattinson in this regard. Reeves said, “Rob actually talked to Christian Bale, and Christian Bale was like, ‘Just make sure you’re gonna be able to relieve yourself.’” The director would follow up by saying Pattinson needed to be able to put it on and also needs "to live as a human being” in the suit.

The virtual DC FanDome from Warner Bros comes after real-world extravaganzas beloved by comic-book fans - such as Comic-Con - were canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Headline billing went to The Batman, a dark, detective-style mystery take on the Caped Crusader which star Pattinson said had to shut down midway through production in March due to Covid-19.

Director Matt Reeves said his version - still due next year - is inspired by classic noirs like Chinatown and Taxi Driver, and will meet a "very human and very flawed" Bruce Wayne in his second year as Batman, trying to solve a series of crimes.
