
Rail operations between Lahore and Karachi were suspended for three hours on Sunday after an empty coach of a passenger train derailed near the Rawalpindi Railway Station on Sunday. However, no casualty was reported in the incident. The derailed bogey of the passenger train was lifted back to the railway track using a crane. Rawalpindi Railways DS told The Express Tribune that the coaches were being shifted to another yard when one of them derailed near Rawalpindi Railway Station. He confirmed that the incident caused no casualty and the track was restored after the coach was removed. Pakistan Railway officials said that they were probing into the incident to avoid such mishaps in the future.
