RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi administration has finalised arrangements for groundbreaking ceremonies of the five mega projects in the district including a 100-bed hospital.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar would lay foundations of these projects in two separate public gatherings to be hosted by the Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar next month.

In this regard, the minister said that the lawmakers from Taxila and Chauntra have started preparations for arranging the events.

He added that 93-Kanal land for the 100-bed hospital on Chakri Road has already been acquired. The minister said that the healthcare facility would have an outpatient department (OPD), emergency department (ET) as well as operation theatres.

The hospital near the entry point of Rawalpindi would also help the swift treatment of injured in road accidents, he noted.

The aviation minister further said that the construction of a new healthcare facility will help lessen the burden on allied hospitals. He asserted that the construction of the hospital will be completed within a year.

Sarwar said that the gas supply projects worth Rs150 million were also part of the development package. Projects for supply of cleaning drinking water for the locals in areas adjoining Adiyala Road were also being started. He said that KRL Girls Higher Secondary School in Morgah would be updated to Girls Degree College while a new technical university and a vocational college for women were also among the recent development projects.
