85 healthcare centres to be upgraded

K-P govt releases Rs550.78 million for strengthening reproductive health services

PESHAWAR:

The provincial government has released Rs550.78 million for strengthening reproductive health services and rehabilitation of as many as 85 basic healthcare facilities in the merged districts.

An official of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Health Department familiar with the development told The Express Tribune that at least 85 basic healthcare centres would be upgraded in the merged areas where round the clock services would be provided to women during pregnancies and safe delivery. Modern equipment would also be provided to these centres.

The official added that over Rs103 million have been allocated for salaries and expenses of 200 employees of these centres for two years. At least Rs323.103 million would be provided for developing basic infrastructure, office equipment while over Rs42 million would be provided for testing facilities.
