BTS song 'Dynamite' is the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours

The record was previously held by K-Pop band Blackpink

K-Pop sensation BTS released their first track in English language on Friday. Within 24 hours of its release, the song crossed 86.4 million views on YouTube, setting a new record on the platform, reported Indian Express. According to Variety, Dynamite also holds the record for “most-viewed YouTube Premiere with more than 3 million live concurrent viewers.”

The record for most viewed video in 24 hours was previously held by another K-Pop act named Black Pink. The all girl band's song How You Like That had reached 86.3 million views with in a day.

This is the second time BTS has set the record for most viewed in a day's span. In April 2019, the band released Boy With Luv. The song got 74.6 million views within the first 24 hours.

Talking about the song earlier, BTS told USA Today that they planned to record an English song during the pandemic because the world is going through so much stress and they wanted to do some good. “This is a situation that everybody else around the world is facing, so we just started to explore what can we do right now, what can we do really good?” said Suga of BTS.
