IHC hears zoo mismanagement case

The court issued notices to the parties with the steps and adjourned the hearing

ISLAMABAD:

Jusitice Minallah has sought reply from the Federal Minister for Climate Change, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul, Ministry of Climate Change Secretary Hassan Nasir Jamy, Islamabad Wildlife Management Board Director Dr Anis ur Rahman, SSP, SHO of Kohsar Police Station after issuing notice on the petition seeking to register a case against those responsible for the death of lions at the Islamabad Zoo. The court ordered to hear the application for registration of the case along with the zoo case. During the hearing on the petition filed by a citizen, IHC chief justice said all the departments concerned are shifting the responsibility to each other. The real culprits of the death of the animals have not been identified. This is not the first incident of the death of the animals in the zoo, even in 2003, such incidents occurred due to incompetence and inattention of the authorities. SSP and SHO Kohsar police station should be ordered to register a case against the real culprits. The court issued notices to the parties with the above steps and adjourned the hearing.
