LAHORE:

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) – the national flag carrier – on Friday announced it is reducing domestic flight fares with effect from Saturday (today).

According to an official spokesperson, the PIA has reduced its fares for flights from Lahore to Karachi to Islamabad and Lahore.

“The one-way fare for Lahore-Islamabad has been fixed at Rs7,879. Only hand-carry hand luggage will be allowed for the passengers availing the discounted facility,” the spokesperson said.

He added that the fare for the trip with freight of goods weighing up to 35 kilogrammes has been fixed at Rs8,543.

As per the spokesperson, the national airline operates four daily flights to the federal capital and two daily flights to Lahore. “The reduction in fares will continue indefinitely,” he added.

In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the global airline operations were severely impacted and people were advised to travel less to stem the contagion’s spread.
