Sindh Rangers foiled a smuggling bid and seized non-custom paid items worth Rs7.2 million during a raid at Guddu check post on Sindh-Punjab border in Kandhkot on Tuesday. According to a Rangers spokesperson, the raid was carried out on a tip-off and the non-custom paid items were found hidden in the secret compartments of two passenger buses. The items included 2,760 kilogrammes (kg) of betel nuts, 825 kg powdered milk, 3,000 packets of Ratan gutka, 1,250 packets of 121 gutka, 250 packets of JM gutka, 150 packets of Safina gutka, 40 packets of RMD gutka, cigarette packets, Mobil engine oil and bus tyres. The seized items were handed over to Customs officials.
