Advocate Nadeem Shaikh filed a plea pertaining to the increasing incidents of boats capsizing in Keenjhar Lake, Thatta at the Sindh High Court on Tuesday.

The court accepted the plea for hearing, which is expected to be conducted today (Wednesday).

Shaikh has claimed that at Keenjhar, people are offered a boat ride to Noori Jam Tamachi for Rs50 but they are not provided life jackets. He has further stated that most boat owners don't have sailing licenses and there is no law or policy for boat rides.

According to him, even 50 people are allowed to board on boat in dilapidated condition, and 10 persons drowned in Keenjhar Lake due to boat capsizing on Monday.

The plea moves the court to take action against the relevant SP, SHO and other administrative officials.
