Blaze erupts on roof of residential building

A fire erupted on the rooftop of a residential building in Badar Commercial area of Defence Housing Authority on Sunday night. Two fire tenders launched an operation to douse the flames, extinguishing the blaze in half an hour. According to the police, the battery room near a mobile phone satellite tower on the rooftop had caught fire, which later engulfed the tower. Meanwhile, fire department officials stated the fire appeared to have started due to a short circuit. No casualties were reported in the incident.
