PESHAWAR:

The Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) has asked the federal government to implement the recommendations of the Sartaj Aziz Committee for the merged districts.

The QWP Chairperson Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said this as he addressed a meeting of the party in Peshawar.

Sherpao asked the federal government to honour the pledges it has made with the people of the merged districts at the time of merger of these areas with K-P.

“The people of the newly merged districts have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the restoration of peace, and the government must take steps to mitigate their sufferings,” he demanded, urging the government to release the promised funds so that uplift activities could take place in the former Fata.
