Shaan elated over Abida Parveen being honoured with Nishan-I-Imtiaz

The actor took to Twitter and congratulated the 'Chaap Tilak' singer for her deserved recognition

On the occasion of Independence Day, August 14, 2020, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, announced to confer the following ‘Pakistan CivilAwards’ on citizens of Pakistan as well as Foreign Nationals for showing excellence and courage in their respective fields.

Legendary singer Abida Parveen has been conferred with Nishan-e-Imtiaz. This will be the Sufi singer's fourth national accolade. Actor Shaan Shahid took to Twitter and congratulated Abida for her deserved recognition.

"Her voice is the vocal identity of Pakistan. Her voice as pure as the Land of the pure it shows the path of the sufi," the Waar star shared. "Shukriya Pakistan for honouring her with Nishaan-i-Imtiaz."

In 2012, Pakistan's second-highest civilian award the Hilal-e-Imtiaz was bestowed upon Chaap Tilak singer by the then president, Asif Ali Zardari. She was also honoured with Sitara-I-Imtiaz by General Pervez Musharraf in 2005. He first-ever national award by President's Pride of Performance in 1984.

Other than Abida, veteran actors Bushra Ansari and Talat Hussain have been awarded Sitar-i-Imtiaz. Resham, Humayun Saeed, Sakina Samo, Ali Zafar, Sarmad Sehbai will be honoured with Pride of Performance whereas Zeba Shehnaz will be given Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
