Punjab MPAs to coordinate development schemes

Usman Buzdar assures to resolve district administration issues

The members of the provincial assembly will be the focal person of development projects in their respective constituencies and oversee the progress on these schemes.

This was decided during a meeting of the MNAs and MPAs of the Rawalpindi division with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Tuesday.

Matters related to Rawalpindi were discussed as the members Punjab Good Governance Council met with the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Tuesday.

Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) from ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) included Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Ammar Siddique, Haji Amjad, Latasib Satti, Raja Sagheer, Javed Kausar, Chaudhry Sajid, and Umar Tanvir Butt.

The lawmakers thanked the chief minister for the formation of the Punjab Good Governance Council that would help measure the performance of the government.

The public representatives discussed the development schemes for Rawalpindi, administrative and public issues, and policies for their resolution, overall political situation along with the party affairs.

The chief minister said that all MPAs would be the focal persons of the development projects and would oversee their progress.

The Punjab CM assured that the government was taking all measures to resolve the issues of the Rawalpindi district. He added that the problems brought to his notice by the lawmakers would be addressed and resolved soon.

The issue of transfer and posting of public servants of choice in a constituency also came up during the meeting. Buzdar said that all the decisions regarding the district administration would be taken after consultation with the related MPAs.

Talking about the development projects, the head of the provincial government said that the Nullah Leh Expressway was a huge project that would help commuters between the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and adjoining areas. It would help overcome damage caused by flooding while it would enable the usage of rainwater for public use.

Buzdar also assured that the expressway will be flanked with trees to reduce environmental pollution.
