Three alleged rapists held

The police lodged a report and started investigations into the matter

ISLAMABAD:

At least three people have been arrested in the federal capital for allegedly sexually assaulting two women during a dacoity.

Lohi Bher police on Monday said according to a complaint filed by Muhammad Akhtar, six armed men allegedly barged into a house in the `Sher Dhamial’ area and held its occupants, hostage, at gunpoint. They allegedly raped two women in the house apart from stealing Rs100,000 in cash, jewellery and mobiles.

The police lodged a report and started investigations into the matter. Islamabad Police IGP Aamir Zulfiqar and DIG-Operations Waqaruddin Syed directed SP-Rural Farooq Butar to apprehend the criminals. Subsequently, a team was constituted under DSP Rukhsar Mehdi.

The team managed to arrest three suspects including Rasib, Imran and Adil. They are being questioned and police hope to apprehend their accomplices soon.

Officials further said that Rasib and Imran are ex-convicts, having served time for dacoity and rape cases.
