Illegally stored wheat, commodities recovered

154 tonnes of wheat as well as 24 tonnes of pulses recovered

FAISALABAD:

The district administration on Monday recovered a large quantity of wheat, pulses and other commodities from various godowns in the city on Sunday.

A spokesperson of the local administration said that on a tip-off, Tandlianwala Assistant Commissioner (AC) Usama Sharoon Niazi along with his team conducted surprise raids on seven godowns in the vicinity of Chak No 392/GB and Chak No 419/GB and recovered 154 tonnes of wheat as well as 24 tonnes of pulses.

The AC also seized 16 tonnes of maize and two tonnes of sunflower seeds illegally stored by hoarders. The assistant commissioner sealed the godowns and complaints had been forwarded to the police stations concerned for the registration of cases against the accused.
