PESHAWAR:

The provincial chief executive has directed to reopen and upgrade all closed schools in the merged tribal districts.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood issued these directives on Friday as he presided over a meeting of the Elementary and Secondary Education Department (ESED) in the provincial capital.

Mahmood directed to address issues for launching double shifts in government schools and a summary in this regard must be presented in the provincial cabinet meeting.

He added that a comprehensive chapter on the biography of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) should be included in the curriculum.

The chief minister further directed to complete solarisation of schools in newly merged tribal districts.

The meeting also approved the inclusion of transfer and posting of officers of grade 18 and 19 into the e-transfer policy of the education department.

The meeting was informed the ESED has updated its official website by utilising latest technology which would formally be launched soon.
