The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) announced on Friday that it would stage a protest on the fourth anniversary of the terrorist attack on Quetta’s lawyers on Saturday (today). According to the SBC, lawyers would boycott courts during the protest. “The lawyers’ community was attacked in Quetta, and while the commission identified those responsible for the incident, the government did not take any action against them,” stated SBC vice chairperson Haider Imam Rizvi. On August 8, 2016, a terrorist attack at the Government Hospital of Quetta, following a fatal attack at the president of the Balochistan Bar Association, claimed the lives of over 70 people, mostly lawyers, and left over 130 others injured.
