Ehtiram-I-Ramazan Ordinance: 24 booked for selling food

24 hotels, canteens and eatery shop owners were arrested by authorities

FAISALABAD: The City District Government is continuing its crackdown against violators of the Ehtiram-i-Ramazan Ordinance and another 24 hotels, canteens and eatery shop owners were arrested by authorities on Saturday. A CDG spokesperson said that the assistant commissioner (AC) Sadar Shehzad Fazal Abbasi had conducted raids at Sammudri Road and found owners of 3 hotels violating the ban, whereas AC city Chaudhary Asif nabbed 5 shop owners violating the ban. Similarly, AC Jaranwala Adnan Shahid arrested 10 canteen owners from 240 Mor Lahore Road, Buchiyana and Faisalabad Road while AC Chak Jhumra Zameerul Haq caught 6 hotel owners violating the ordinance. The raiding officers have fined the men and sent them to jail for 72 hours.
