The bodies of a recently married couple, with their heads smashed, were found in a house in Gulshan-e-Latif, Korangi, on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Mir Hassan, 35, and Shabana, 27. According to Awami Colony SHO Humayun Khan, the couple hailed from Sujawal and had married about a month and a half ago. They were found to have suffered head injuries, and the police suspected they were hit on the head with a brick or some other heavy object, he said, adding that the bodies were five to six days old.
The SHO further said that initial investigation indicated the involvement of Shabana’s former fiance in the murder, who the police were trying to track down with the help of available evidence. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
