Kashmiris hold demonstrations across Europe to denounce India's Aug 5 move

Rallies were conducted in Oslo, Glasgow, Brescia, Lisbon, Barcelona, Berlin and more than eight cities of UK

Kashmiris settled in Europe and United Kingdom took to the streets to condemn the August 5, 2019 move of the Modi government for annexing Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) with India.

Rallies and conferences were conducted in Oslo, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Scotland, Brescia, Italy, Lisbon, Portugal, Barcelona, Spain Berlin, Germany, Hamburg, Germany Zurich, Switzerland and more than eight cities of UK.

The rallies and seminars were organised by Tehreek-e-Kashmir Europe and UK. In Birmingham, the main anti-India rally was taken out in front of Birmingham Council House, Victoria Square in which hundreds of overseas Kashmiris and Pakistanis participated.

On the occasion TeK Europe President Muhammad Ghalib said that Kashmiris are not fighting for the restoration of Article 370 and 35-A but there struggle is for the implementation of UN resolutions.

Ghalib said the UK must come forward to play its role for the permanent settlement of IIOJK as per the wishes of the people of Kashmir.

While addressing the rally TeK UK President Fahim Kayani said that Kashmiris liberation struggle was started in 1931 which is still continuing in order to achieve the goal that is complete freedom from illegal Indian rule.

"For the last one year Kashmiris suffered a lot and there is no sign of development in IIOJK. India abrogated Article 370 and 35-A to impose lockdown aimed to break their economy,” he said, adding that the world community must come forward and ensure the implementation of UN resolutions to save the South Asia from nuclear war between Pakistan and India on the Kashmir dispute.

Senior leader of TeK Adeel Ahmed said, while addressing another anti-India rally at Town Hall multi-story Car Park Brunel Street, that the people in UK and Europe will continue to raise their voice for the rights of the people of IIOJK.

Muhammad Hanif Raja TeK leader in Scotland said that they will continue to come on the streets of Glassgow to raise voice for the Kashmiris and their sufferings at the hand of occupational forces of India.

TeK leader in Norway Shah Hussain also led the anti-India protest. Hundreds of people were present in the rally.

On the occasion, protesters passed a resolution in support of Kashmiris freedom struggle. In Italy, TeK President Mehmood Sharif, in Germany Riaz Ghulam, Switzerland Ejaz Chaudary, Spain Nasir Shezad, Portugal Mehboob Ahmed and Tufail Hussain Shah also addressed the anti-India and Kashmir solidarity rallies and jointly vowed to continue their support for the people of IIOJK in the genuine and political rights struggle which India has been trying to suppress since 1947.
