PES dealt with 8,929 emergencies

The emergency ambulance, rescue and fire services responded to 3,723 emergencies of road traffic crashes

Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Rescue 1122 responded to 8,929 emergencies across the province during the Eidul Azha holidays. At least 9,014 victims were reported in the incidents. Out of the total road crash related emergencies, as many as 39 lives were lost. Reportedly, the emergency ambulance, rescue and fire services responded to 3,723 emergencies of road traffic crashes, 3,564 medical emergencies, 343 crime incidents, 85 fire incidents, 29 drowning and 1,185 other emergency cases such as child birth, electric shocks and occupational injuries. A majority of the emergency cases were reported in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur and Sahiwal during the Eid holidays. PES Lahore responded to at least 1,143 emergencies in total including 581 road traffic crashes (RTCs). PES Faisalabad responded to 773 emergencies including 331 RTCs, PES Multan dealt with 662 emergencies with 325 RTCs, PES Bahawalpur responded to 462 emergencies with 131 RTCs and PES Sahiwal 447 emergencies including 136 RTCs during the period.
