Sheikh Rashid rules out NAB laws tweak

Minister says three scandals about sugar, flour and petrol have surfaced, the fourth scandal is about utility stores

ISLAMABAD:

Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid has ruled any amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws, stressing that Prime Minister was not going anywhere and he would be last person to bring any changes to the NAB laws.

Talking to the media persons after offering Eid prayers at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, Rashid said that Eidul Azha was being celebrated under the shadow of coronavirus pandemic therefore, the entire nation should be very careful.
Without mentioning any names, the minister said that “thieves” wanted amendment to the NAB laws. “Imran Khan will be the last person to amend the NAB laws,” the minister told reporters. “Imran Khan is not going anywhere.”

Rashid further said that the opposition would definitely make noise in August and September but added that it was their democratic right. However, he warned them against break the law. “Protests can be held within the [limits of] law,” he said.

“The situation is not the same as before,” the railways minister told the media persons. “I want to tell [Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief] Maulana Fazlur Rehman that if the law is broken during the protest, action will be taken.”
Sheikh Rashid further said that Indian atrocities and curfew in the Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) had almost completed one year, adding that the construction of the Ram Temple on the site of the Babri Masjid was also a message to the entire Muslim Ummah.

“India is threatening [after having] Rafale jets but I want to tell [Narendra] Modi that Pakistani scientists have done such a thing that India will be annihilated,” he said. Drawing attention towards the border tenstions between India and China, he said the Indian economy had been destroyed.

Sheikh Rashid said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was bringing subsidy on in flour and sugar to reduce its prices. He also said: “Sugar, flour and petrol, three scandals have come, the fourth scandal is the about the utility stores. Imran Khan will not spare those involved in the scandals.”
