Girls swept the top positions in the annual Higher Secondary School Examinations (HSSE), results for which were announced on Tuesday.
The Peshawar Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) organised a ceremony at the board’s auditorium to announce the results and award the position holders. As many as 117,825 students were deemed to have appeared in the exams of the Peshawar BISE.
In the pre-medical category, the top position was secured by Mariyam Nadeem of the Peshawar Jinnah College by obtaining 1,054 marks out of a possible 1,100. Mahnoor Saleem and Fatima shared the second position by securing 1,036 marks. Ishmail of the Jinnah College stood third with 1,025 marks.
In the pre-engineering group, Akbar Khanzada of the Islamia College took the first position with 1,017 marks and Muhammad Afridi was second with 999 marks. Roohi Amin of the Peshawar Model School secured the third position with 993 marks.
In the art group, students of Islamia College also secured the top positions.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Law Minister Sultan Muhammad Khan who attended the prize distribution ceremony, said that the Peshawar BISE has set an example for other education boards.
