LG delimitation committees formed

RAWALPINDI:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday formed delimitation committees to hear objections to demarcations for neighbourhood and panchayat councils in Rawalpindi, like the rest of Punjab under the new local government (LG) system. Regional Election Commissioners (RECs) of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Attock will head these delimitation authorities in the Rawalpindi division. These committees will address objections on the demarcation of boundaries for neighbourhood councils in the urban areas and panchayat councils in the rural areas. Representatives of political parties and citizens can file these objections. ECP has also issued a notification in this regard. All RECs in nine divisions of the province would head these committees.
