First Eid special train departs from city

The first Eid special train left Karachi Cantt Station for Rawalpindi on Tuesday. The train, comprising 14 economy class bogies and having the seating capacity of 1,300, carried just 753 passengers- 60 per cent of its total capacity- in line with coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs). According to Railways deputy superintendent Hamdan Nazir, the second special Eid train will depart for Rawalpindi today (Wednesday) at 11.45am and the third train will leave the metropolis for Lahore tomorrow at 7.30pm. Pakistan Railways had earlier announced that three special train services would be run on the occasion of Eidul Azha.
