Eid security plan finalised

Strict monitoring of all sensitive places will be ensured through CCTV cameras

LAHORE:

Police has chalked out a security plan for the festival of Eidul Azha. While giving details of the security plan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations Wing) Lahore Ashfaq Khan informed The Express Tribune that more than 8,000 police officers and officials would perform security duty on the upcoming Eid. As many as six SPs, 34 DSPs, 84 inspectors and 302 upper subordinates will be on duty this Eid. He highlighted that there are more than 5,000 masjids in the city which have been categorized according to their sensitivity. All the masjids in the city will be provided security. Strict monitoring of all sensitive places will be ensured through CCTV cameras, he added. He confirmed that p0olice officials hailing from Special Security Unit (SSU) and Anti-Riot Force (ARF) will be on high alert at the places of their posting. “Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit teams along with vehicles of different police stations will ensure effective patrolling around all the religious places.” The citizens will be provided a three-layer-safety at masjids, imam bargahs and other religious places.
